The debate over whether to immunize or not is a perfect example of how a small sector of voices can put an entire country at-risk. It is critical to have quality products and hold manufacturers accountable for the quality of their products. I am the biggest critic of the pushes of big pharma on the American public. However, in a tough-love form of protecting citizens around the globe, when carried out appropriately, the population approach to public health is based on epidemiology and history, not hysterics. It is focused on saving the largest number of lives; even if there may be concerns or risks for a few. Both protection and accountability can occur at the same time. And yes, it is a difficult decision when you feel that your child may be at-risk for side effects from immunizations. This super short vlog, originally produced by the CDC with the embedded links I have added, allows us to regain a healthy perspective of why immunizations do save lives! Pass it on to those you know who are on the fence. We have become so insulated from the dangers that childhood diseases present to our children, that it appears we are focusing on the wrong dangers!
